Rachel & Kellen, A day of Love, Laughter & Family!

Posted on January 24, 2018 at 11:50 PM

Where do I begin??? You know exactly where Rachel & Kellen found their abilities to express the kindness and love in each others hearts after meeting the entire bride and grooms family! The support and caring touch from both mothers during the entire process touched my heart every step of the way. Getting to know Rachel, Kellen, and all the family was a pure bonus within my job. This bride set out to hire us 2 years in advance! That's pretty exciting! Rachel wanted a wedding full of love, laughter, beauty, romance, and good times! The ceremony was held @ the brides hometown church. Its a beautiful, small town, love abundant, welcoming, kinda church. Rachel & Kellen had a bible verse they built their wedding day around and asked me to incorporate it in the design plan if possible. And I DID!! With a fall wedding date, Rachel wanted to incorporate a favorite deep marsala hue with light blushes, ivory's, greens, and mixed metals. Rachel shared some sweet personal touches that she wanted me to include in the design on the wedding day. One example: the guest "sign in" activity that required guest to sign a pre-cut quilt square that the grooms grandmother would later sew together as a keepsake blanket. To enhance the design, I incorporated another of grandmas finished quilts as the backdrop framed with greenery, along with some touching photos of the groom with his grandmother. Rachel wanted their "love Story" timeline somehow shared with the guests so I designed a  personalized sign drapped with greenery that included their "Love Story". Other personal touches included a personalized polaroid photo prop station, a three table dessert station(largest in my career) that included all the Bride & Grooms favorite desserts provided by family & friends, and an EXTRA surprise of three large hanging flower chandeliers configured with greenery, flowers, and twinkle lights. It was DREAMY!! The venue is beautiful, but at sunset, it takes your breath away. Apryl & James Napier with Dimensions Photography https://www.dimensions-photography.com/" target="_blank">https://www.dimensions-photography.com/captured its splendor in every shot!! They are a great team of professionals to work with and go above the normal photographer job descriptions. The food was delicious, wasnt the average BBQ buffet, The Flying Pig added special touches of flavor to every dish, especially the mac 'n cheese! It was their last event before retirement. They finished with a big bang for certain!! The DJ/Rob Gaskill /www.djmastermix.net/owner of DJ Master Mix kept everyone on the dance floor until the last goodgye. It was a joy to see Rachel & Kellen enjoy every minute of the Day! MX Productions created an awesome video of their wedding day that I'm sure, will be chereished forever. Rachel & Kellen, may you be ever blessed and continue to witness to others how young love grows to forevermore!

Sara & Jonathan @ The Sycamore

Posted on January 2, 2018 at 8:45 PM

This past summer, I had the opportunity to take on a decor and flower design project for a client @ The Sycamore @ Mallow Run near Centergrove. The couple, Jonathan & Sara were such a sweet and fun couple. Sara's mother had hired us for her first daughter’s wedding several years back and I was more than happy to be a part of another wedding with this family! The Sycamore had just opened the year prior and was looking forward to an opportunity at this venue very soon! The Sycamore shares the property with Mallow Run Winery. The space lends itself to beautiful photo opportunities and is so spacious with two floor to ceiling stone fireplaces and floor to ceiling glass walls that allows you to take in views of the sun setting on the vineyard. Sara and Johnathan wanted to have a simple, but elegant, all white wedding. I listened to her carefully and in her own words, “It was everything and even more than she had hoped for". The photographer was so fabulous focused on all the little details. Kortni Marie Photography was a pleasure to work alongside as we finished the sweetheart, dessert and memorial table towards the end of set up. Sara loved the idea of glass with water and romantic candlelight along with the mix of gold and silver touches throughout the design. White florals of hydrangeas, peonies, roses, and lisianthus added the perfect touches of white while adding loads of greenery to incorporate the present trend. Kortni blogged about this wedding too. Click on the following link to see her point of view of this lovely day too! /www.kortnimarie.com/2017/07/11/sycamore-wedding-jonathan-sara/ I so agree with Kortni as to how your heart leaped with joy as the couple interacted through the day. You could see how Jonathan adored his bride in every smile, hand holding, and glance. Lastly, I want to give a shout out to Haley Renee Catering. Her food was an absolute work of art and they were a pleasure to work alongside during set up and completion.

A Blush & Gold Barn Wedding with Elegant touches.

Posted on December 31, 2017 at 4:45 PM

Yes, you can have an elegant wedding in a Barn Venue! Chandeliers, Edison lights, a babbling brook under a wide wooden plank bridge, large green spaces, and an oversized oak tree to shade the Bride & Groom as they share their vows... all perfect touches for a beautiful wedding day!!

This couple is so beautiful inside and out. I am so stunned at how you can see the love in their eyes in every photo. This couple found each other in high school and became high school sweethearts and stayed together during college courses. Seth, the groom, is such a romantic he knew he needed to hire one of Callie's, the brides, favorite photographer, to capture his proposal and then the wedding day. Callie is a photographer too, and had hinted for several years that she was a fan of Cat Satre's work. He did just that. He hired Cat Satre to photograph both events. She has become a favorite photographer of mine to reccomend to clients.  You will see why in the photos! This was an August wedding with high temps and high humidity and many inside breaks were needed to cool off, however, they still enjoyed the day and were able to really be in the moment and enjoy the day. Touches of blush, gold, ivory, and greenery were placed everywhere. Callie hired The Wedding Lady..thats me, for planning, coordination, design & florals. The Brides grandfather is a well known DJ in California, and wanted to be the DJ for his grandaughter as he had done for all his granchildren. Thank you Indy cakes for a delicious sweetheart cake and  amazing cupcakes!! It was a day full of memories, love, fun & family. Avon Wedding Barn & Event space was the perfect mix of rustic, outdoor, & elegance  touches for Callie & Seth on their wedding day. YES, you can have an elegant wedding at a barn venue!!

Amanda & Derek Wedding May 2014

Posted on October 16, 2014 at 2:30 AM

What a beatiful DAY! This couple was the perfect mix of elegance, quirky, and true love. Family was a continued highlight in every step this couple took in the planning process. I had the pleasure to meet Amanda & Derek mid-way through their wedding planning. Amanda & her mother realized planning her wedding was way beyond their DIY efforts and I was ever so happy to take hold of those DIY dreams and evolve them into a Wedding Day none of them could imagine. Decorating was a major task on such a large piece of property, but it also gives me a blank canvas to plan, place, and coordinate the best traffic flow for the wedding day. Private Property Weddings have its pros and cons for a planner & decorator. Electricity, water, remote spaces, and of course the elements are always a challenge. However, beautiful sunshine  cast over a lake, aside a large log cabin home, that has been the home filled with memories of the bride as a young girl, truly adds a  tender moment in everyones heart.

Savings for this couple ranged from the property being free of charge, food trucks used in place of a caterer, and of course as her florist and planner, I afforded her many savings with vendors.

I truly believe a picture is worth a thousand words.
